Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann Branch
The Tech Set Dancers (http://techsetdancers.com) and the Vernacular MusicCenter (http://vernacularmusiccenter.com) are in the process of founding a new chapter of Comhaltas Ceoiltoiri Eireann (http://comhaltas.ie), the international organization for Irish musicians and dancers worldwide. This new High Plains Branch will be one of three required (along with San Antonio and New Orleans) as part of a new Southwest Region. We are very excited about this and we believe this is a very positive move for Irish/Celtic arts on the South Plains.
Founding this Branch of the international organization also makes it possible to open-up the process of membership and officership to friends of the Celtic community across the region, including both campus and community members. Not only musicians and dancers, but also those interested in Irish language, folklore, history, and culture are most definitely encouraged to become involved.
If you are interested in additional information, membership, or other aspects of Irish music, language, and culture on the Llano Estacado, please be in touch with TSD President Abi Rhoades (thegoddessreborn@hotmail.com or 806.445.4637) or visit the website of the TTU Vernacular Music Center (http://vernacularmusiccenter.org).
