Barn Dances
The VMC works with our community partner, Yoga Bean yoga studio and coffee shop, to offer monthly "Barn Dances" - free participatory dance events open to the public, typically on the First Friday of each month. Held in the warm & accessible space of Yoga Bean's large teaching studio, the Barn Dances provide friendly and free instruction in the simple English, French and American dances from the Tech Irish Set-Dancers, with accompaniment provided by the musicians of the Caprock Celtic Association.

Soirees
The VMC partners with its sister organization, the Roots Music Institute (501c3), to offer "soirees"--participatory music & dance events by local & guest artists in the intimate environments of Board members' and supporters' homes. Often focusing upon the lovely, accessible figures of social English Country Dance and encouraging friendly participation, good conversation, and wonderful food, the Soiree series recreates the elegant ambiance and experience of Jane Austen and the Brontes, Jane Eyre and Mr Darcy.
House Concerts
The VMC partners again with the Roots Music Institute (501c3), to offer all-acoustic House Concerts by local & guest artists in the intimate environments of Board members' and supporters' homes. Combining music, dance, food, drink, and good conversation, the House Concerts series keys in to the international network of presenters, touring artists, and fans who prefer the immediacy, interaction, and "family feeling" of the home.
